During his college days at George Washington University, Bill was principal trumpeter with the National Philharmonic in Washington, D.C. for one season, and was a soloist there playing Haydn's Trumpet Concerto in E flat major.  After graduation, Bill won the trumpet audition for The United States Army Band ("Pershing's Own") at Ft Myer, Virginia.

Private studies with trumpeters from the National Symphony (in Washington, D.C.) and the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra have provided Bill the skills needed to be a trusted, successful trumpeter in large orchestras as well as smaller wedding ensembles.  Bill is a competent piccolo trumpeter who is available to play the standard wedding songs such as "Abblasen Fanfare" followed by Trumpet Voluntary, Rondo, etc.

Today, Bill is principal trumpeter with the University City Symphony Orchestra, Town and Country Symphony Orchestra, Saint Charles County Symphony Orchestra, and Maryville Symphony Orchestra.  In addition, he has played in numerous pit orchestras for musicals such as Legally Blonde, Kismet, Once Upon a Mattress, etc.

Bill is a member of the Saint Louis musician's union, local 2-197.

Bill also is a bugler-for-hire whose contact information can be found on his web site, www.livetaps.org.
